Hello - Hola

My name is Al Eisele. I am the administrator of www.mantaexpatsonline.com. My wife (Linda) and I have lived in Manta, Ecuador since June 2010. We are originally from Cary, North Carolina where we both retired at a fairly young age. Linda was a business owner for over 18 years and sold her business when we decided to move to Manta. I retired after 33 years in NC law enforcement.

We live in a condominium building overlooking the pacific ocean (as of December 2016 we have moved to the inner city of Manta while our building is under going reconstruction for the next 6-8 months due to the April 7.8 earthquake). Everyday, we hear and see the ocean, swimmers, surfers, kite surfers, fishing boats, Manta Seaport and the fabulous sunsets over the ocean (we now hear & see the intercity commercial business district).

Our choice was Manta because of the ocean and great warm weather 24/7; however, we do get an occasional rain & slight earthquake.

Ecuadorians in Manta are great friendly people. Manta is about 300,000 + people and is the largest fish producing city in South America. Your Sunkist & Bumble Bee tuna comes from Manta, Ecuador. I developed MantaExpatsOnline in July of 2011 in an effort to bring together those Expats living in Manta / Manabí Province by providing a focal point to inform everyone of local events and gatherings.

My interests changed from not only providing information for those living here but now to those of you interested in visiting/living in Manta / Manabí.

I want to inform you about what we have experienced, our surroundings and our observations in an effort to help you make the decision whether or not to take that step and plan a trip to Manta, Ecuador, South America, which is not an easy decision to make.  I'm hoping to provide you with as much information as possible that will help you in your choice.

We look forward to you visiting our city and having an Almuerzo (lunch) with us at our favorite beach restaurant. By the way, did I mention it’s only a 5 minute walk along the beach to the restaurant!

Enjoy
Al & Linda
