Beach/Playa in the Manta/Manabí area to include the Galápagos Islands with coastal web site information
Here are just a few beaches/playas along the north and south coastline of Manta/Manabí Ecuador to include the Galápagos Islands.
From Manta heading North
- Crucita: Paraglide off the cliffs and over the ocean and very good whale watching
- San Clemente: Nice beaches and whale watching
- Bahía de Caraquez and Isla Corazón: Nice beaches, surf and windsurfing, Isla Corazón is an ecological reserve of mangroves with the largest frigate bird colony on the Chone River
- Canoa: Home to surfing, ecotourism hikes and beach living
- San Vicente: Great beaches for kite surfing, sport fishing and whale watching
- Pedernales: Beautiful rocky beach with nice waves for surfing
From Manta heading South
- Manta Playa Murciélago: Most renowned with nice facilities, kite surfing, surf boarding, whale watching, and rich in fauna, nice landscapes and incredible gastronomy
- Santa Marianita: Great beach for kite surfing and whale watching
- Puerto de Cayo: Beach surfing, whale watching, and local gastronomy
- Machalilla: National Parks, dry forest reserve rich in native fauna, nice landscapes with beautiful beach
- Puerto López: Great beach in nice town, practice scuba diving and depart to Isla de Plata archaeological site, wildlife hotspot and great whale watching
- Isla de Plata & Machalilla National Park: The Island was a naciente religious point for the Los Mantenos (the last pre-Columbian civilization in modern-day Ecuador) culture with a local museum. The Island is also is home to scuba diving in the sea in a similar like Galapagos Islands underwater wildlife.

Galápagos Islands
Official name: Archipiélago de Colón; other Spanish names: Islas de Colón or Islas Galápagos. The Galápagos Islands are an archipelago of volcanic islands distributed around the equator in the Pacific Ocean, 972 km (525 nmi) west of Ecuador, of which they are a part.
The Galápagos Islands and its surrounding waters form an Ecuadorian province, a national park, and a biological marine reserve. The principal language on the islands is Spanish. The islands have a population of around 23,000.
